Looking forward to a good harvest - watercolour on Fabriano rough 300gsm - 40cm x 26cm In this Chinese new year I thought I would like to present an optimistic picture with some nodding reference to China. To me this rice farmer is the embodiment of rural China. The structure of the straw hat combined with its translucency made it a challenge to paint.
