It's been a while since I posted a painting of a lady and this subject just "fell off the brush" today. Professor Blackburn was a co-recipient of the 2010 Nobel Prize for Medicine. Her work on telomeres has the promise of bringing us all closer to controlling the aging process. An Australian whose work deserves celebration, she is a woman with an optimistic world vision which I have tried to capture in her pose.
