Well, I have a theory about ascribing human emotions to animals; which boils down to the fact that we're animals too, so why not? It's just that we're distinctly less attractive than most other species, and infinitely more destructive. Having delivered myself of which weighty profundity, I add that I'm sure hippos can be exuberant and playful, and I like this one.
