Those ears really look transparent, another lovely painting

Just too adorable to ignore! Lovely painting. And a fantastic gallery.

I agree with above, great stuff.

Brilliant expression and full of character.

So paintable, and yet such a perishing nuisance in the flesh...

Not a nuisance at all Robert. I love little bunnies in Spring (mind you I'm not a farmer with a field full fo carrots!) I love this. Gerhard, you have captured it well. I have just purchased a little bunny myself recently. She is gorgeous. White with brown eyes (unusual in a white rabbit) with little grey speckles on her back and grey ears. Very paintable!!

Fantastic portrait. I have mixed feelings about bunnies as they are tunnelling in my garden and causing a lot of damage. Nevertheless, I can appreciate how beautifully this one is painted.

Jean: I used to keep rats - so it's all a matter of perception, I know! Individually, there are very few mammalian life-forms that are anything other than fascinatingly beautiful. Collectively, however - they can be a complete curse.

Robert - carrying your reference to a curse further - I have this conspiracy theory. It was Theodore Roosevelt who had second thoughts about plugging the bear cub (no such hesitancy when it came to its mother) and set in train a series of events that has now resulted in the imminent world take-over by cute and cuddly soft toys. These polluting plush pets in plague proportions promise to permanently permeate our precarious presence on this planet.

Perfect rabbit painting Gerhard, gorgeous almost translucent look to the ears and the look in the eyes is 100 per cent rabbit

The back lighting and those lovely translucent ears just cried out to be painted.
