Love your pastels on watercolour they seem to work really well 😀

Thank you Dennis and Linda. I did a lot of watercolours last year purely as exercises and I learned a lot from doing them but nearly always thought they could be improved . I think the pastel I have applied to them has certainly given them more depth and vibrancy.

Lovely pastel George, I have just used Pastelmat but would prefer a base that I could blend more but with enough tooth. Rough w/c paper perhaps would be just right?

Sorry I hadn't read that you used watercolour first. I agree with you about pastel on watercolours though as this shows.

Beautiful painting George.Are you sure you have the right river? The Brockweir that I know is on the River Wye.

Thanks everyone. Chris you are right it is of course the Wye. I actually live alongside of the Wye so I don't know where that came from. Carole, try Canson Mi Tentes , preferable the smoother side. I always found the indentations on the rougher side was to regular for my liking.
