They inevitably seem strange to those of us brought up with western flora and never having seen one in the wild I can't really offer any useful comment on your painting of them; but what a sky! Superb blending, the salt pan plainly and beautifully conveyed .... it's another world to me, but a welcome glimpse into others' reality.

I know this so well! Having lived in Botswana and got lost in the Makgadikgadi game reserve looking for Bains baobabs, this painting brings back so many marvellous memories. I agree with Robert that your sky is outstanding, but the trees are also well described. Lovely!

Love this !! there is almost a surreal quality to it. I agree the sky is outstanding !!

Somehow this reminds me of Le Petit Prince. But really it's all about the marvellous light and, yes, that amazing sky!

The baobab trees of Botswana are often found on or near salt pans that are situated in the central Botswana region. Majestic and wise, these trees impart a spiritual wisdom that you experience without trying.
