Linda, this is absolutely stunning, it must be so difficult to do a portrait of a pet which is the same colour all over. You've achieved so many subtle shades and tones to describe the fur......and the eyes, brilliant!

I agree with Afiona - this is certainly stunning. You have great control of the medium. The people who commissioned this must be thrilled. The dog is lovely - it wouldn't call you an amateur artist!!

You are all so kind and I appreciate the feedback. Sometimes when you are so absorbed with painting a subject you become blind to mistakes and standing back helps. But it really helps when other artists give a frank and objective view of your work. And you are so right about painting a dog which is all black, not easy, so I am thrilled it seems like I have been successful. His owner agrees! Thank you.
