Lovely scene Linda, but watch how many paintings you are posting, 4 in any one day is supposed to be the max otherwise you push other peoples work onto later pages where they may not get seen and potentially commented on by viewers, and that is the whole point of this site, to get seen and feedback on how we are all doing!

Hi Linda, nice to see this one, as I also attempted this exercise from the SAA. Love the result, i think you have captured the atmosphere portrayed in the original photo, love your brush work and weathered texture of the trees and rock work, it will be interesting to see the comments in their magazine. Would appreciate your view and comments of my attempt. Thanks Peter.

I thought I recognised this scene. This is very effective and the greens are great. Peter's has a more atmospheric feel - I thought the stream led out to the sea in his.

Thank you. And Ros P, sorry didn't realise, will do better.

Linda, don't knock yourself, mine may be slightly more accurate to the photo, but that was not the exercise, it was to get different interpretations of the scene, your skill with watercolours are exceptional. Love the way you have captured the trees, foreground reflections and the textured effect of the rock work. My only critic would be the perspective of the edge of the mid ground, it seems to be coming back on itself and tends to take your eyes off the central area, but that's just my comment, others would possibly disagree. You mentioned in one of your replies this morning that you would be interested in painting the excavator shovels, why not paint the excavator. Would love to see photos, you can contact me through a web site called "The Art Room" in fact they may be interested in your work, give them a try, Kate is always looking for talented people like yourself. Best Regards Peter.

Thanks so much Peter. I love positive comments but I most appreciate critical suggestions for improvement. I am striving for perfection... whatever that is....and only others can really view your efforts with a fresh and unbiased eye. And that is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks again.
