Lovely line and wash painting. So much to look at enjoy.

Agree with Thea, there's really so much to enjoy. It's interesting, Fred, because although this is a scene from 1957, your painting has captured some of the present atmosphere, even though much of the scene has now changed. The row of old shophouses in the background have all been refurbished and converted into restaurants and that part of the riverbank is now known as Boat Quay. The laborers and boats are no longer there. When I was still working as a lawyer, my office building was right behind where you were standing when you took your photograph!

Thankyou Thea and Seok. To think you had an office at the same location is just amazing! At the time some of the women hid their faces behind their hands when I was taking photos. My mates thought I was mad walking 'round Chinatown on my own.
