Early Morning at Rockcliffe Cumbria
Rockcliffe church spire stands dark against the strong morning sunlight . This iconic village lays adjacent to the Rockcliffe salt marsh at Sandsfield where the mighty River Eden joins the Solway Firth a little further downstream. This is one of my favourite places to paint, I love the wild desolate landscape which can be so bleak and intimidating, yet it experiences some amazing light shows and becomes a thing of real beauty.
