Nice Frank, you've certainly succeeded in simplyfying the image down to simple shapes; in fact I thought it was a linocut at first.

I also thought it looked a bit like a lino cut at first glance, it does have a lovely printed effect, especially with the limited palette - and the offset background adds interest.

Thanks everyone for all your comments. I guess it does look a bit like a Linocut. Gouache is the only medium that I am comfortable with using black straight from the tube.
