Come on Adele get cracking, we can't keep looking at the pastels and admiring them we have to have a go!

And still fresh after looking at them over the years lol. Like the blending and foreground Carole.

Thanks John, it was your pastel that made me sort them out of the cupboard!

Ha ha.......snap carole! Just read your comment on my pastel effort. Love the mid-ground trees beautifully blended, I didn't do much blending on mine, I will have to try that on the next one!lol

Just commented on Fiona's and said I am trying to work up the courage. This is great though. Like you I have been looking at my pastels, with the addition of stroking them (I find them very tactile) If I do one, It is sure to be abstract as I doubt anyone will be able to see what it is! I've just seen your comment, Carole and whilst laughing, I am also breaking out in a sweat.

Haha, that's a good idea Adele an abstract would be lovely as we could use all those lovely colours without worrying about a complicated scene ;)

Thanks Fiona and Adele for your comments:)

This is lovely !! All this chat about pastels is getting to me think I had better do some investigating ;-)

A good job, Carole! Love the clean hues, the sense of recession and the palette.

Works well Carole and I like the distance you've created in this

Thanks all for your kind encouragement:)

Nice one Carole, really like the blending away into the distance, pastels are something I have only used once oe twice I think there is one in my gallery?. I really like your composition as I say nice one.

Love the trees and the blending. ... I too have pastels lurking.

Beautiful imagination Carole

Thanks Malcolm, Gudrun and Ruthy ;)

Well done, Carole. I don't have pastels but I am looking after a whole draw filled with watercolour pencils!!! Always planning to use them, but.... Coffee is closer to my hand!

Lovely composition Carole. Love the foreground.

Very nice Carole, a very fresh pastel. I have some myself but not plucked up the courage yet to use them, seen a few DVD's on how to though. As others have said must try. LOL.

lovely spontaneous work Carole more please

Very nice composition and foreground, Carole...it looks very fresh and loose.

Just noticed this one - love the foreground detail and colours. I've got loads of pastels, but have never been able to get on with them, but might try again having seen all the lovely pastel posts this week!

A pastel rare for me, done in 20 mins, imagination. Thought I should use them after looking at them for a few years ??
