Needs some work doing yet!

Gorgeously done Carol and skillfully.

They get more and more beautiful Carole

Yet another beauty, this is gorgeous Carole.

Great variety of colour Carole. I love iris. Grown my own from seed, this very variety.

Can almost smell it...

Carole, just a small observation, unlike me I know!, one of, if not the best yet.

An absolute cracker Carole

This is wonderful Carole - look at those shades of colour. What do you mean by "watercolour collaged" please?

Thank you! Adele, someone said when I first did this Iris that it looked 'sparse' so I thought I woul try a background! I ruined the picture, so I cut the iris out and stuck it on a fresh piece of paper. Since posting this I have painted the stalk of the bud and the main flowerhead. That is as far as I can go I think, any ideas? Thanks for your interest Adele.

What a superb botanical watercolour!

Thanks Carole. Love it just as it is - but you have cleared up a problem for me. I am painting sunflowers and it is a large painting and I wondered whether to do a background. I am a bit reluctant because I might spoil it and a lot of work is going into the flower. Didn't think about cutting it out and putting on another piece of paper if the worst happened - so thanks for that.

Another superlative piece, Carole - I love how you created the complex layers and folds of the petals.

Your welcome Adele glad to help. Thank you Gudrun, Sylvia, Satu, Seok and Lynne.
