This is a lovely painting of a tide coming in, lovely deep colours I know being a newbie to acrylics how hard they can be well done Carole.

Thanks very much Tao. I use acrylics very rarely so never seem to get used to them, but I do love using texture products.

I really love the texture you have achieved on the crests of the waves and the beach, very nice!

I do too Carole but I made the choice to give them a year. Much harder when got used to watercolour. A great job you have really given them life. Beautiful painting

Wonderful painting Carole, great textures in the foreground.

is that texture products at the bottom Carole?

Thanks all for your encouragement I really appreciate it. Dennis I used 'coarse pumice and extra coarse pumice'. I also stuck on some netting you get fruit in at the supermarket.

You are a very talented lady, Carole. This is beautiful.

Very clever Carole you are becoming an expert

I love those textured bits. Brilliant effect carol

Nice work Carole you have done well , I used to paint in Acrylics but the blues always went dark . You've kept this lovely and fresh.

Lovely seascape carole I must try textures one day. At present i use ordinary acrylic slightly diluted with water and have been painting acrylics this way since the fifties. its the easy way i think.

Nicely done Carole, I know what you mean about problems, I had the same when I started to use them, I found as Syd said dilute with water either slightly or even down to watercolour properties you will find them easier to use and always keep a mist bottle handy to keep giving a light spraying to keep the surface workable, plus of course various mediums you can add to slow down the drying, I have been using both Itallier interactive and Golden Open acrylics which both have longer working properties, Golden open stays workable for longer without spraying and also if kept in a sealed plastic box or tub the paint stays fresh for weeks unlike other acrylics, good luck and have fun.

Beautiful painting love the blue tone's

Just beautiful Carole, especially like the foreground.

Thanks all for you encouraging comments I'm so pleased you like it. Malcom and Syd thank you for your info on the acrylics it is very helpful. Malcolm I was reading about Open acrylics yesterday and thought what a good idea. The ones I have are Sennelier abstract as they were cheap and half price in hobbycraft:). Will have a good look at the suggested ones thanks x

Just lovely Carole.

I love the texture in the foreground, it looks wonderful - the rest of the painting is too! I have never given acrylic paints enough time to get used to them, only oils and that was some time ago.

A semi abstract acrylic, is there no end to your talents ? :) love the textures in this.

Thanks Margaret and Val you are very kind :)

Thank you Luminita you are very kind.

An attempt with acrylic, got the idea from a book. Find acrylic hard to handle! Comments welcome :)
