Thank you, William. Actually the "model" for this woman sold pepper at the market in Nagybánya. She had a lot bigger heap of pepper in front of her than what I put here, but that would have dominated the painting too much. Yes, for me visiting Transsylvania or some other nearby parts of Romania is also a kind of time travel, sweet and sad.
