I love the harmonious and understated colours of this painting. Often, when looking at 'galleries' of painting societies, I am appallled at the amateurishness of so much of the work I see; bad drawing, garish colours and terrible conception, all in the name of supposedly pushing the boundaries of the medium.

Thank you Rupert. I find it difficult to keep acrylics looking in any way natural; garishness and overworking is a real problem, and that probably contributes to the issues you mention. I certainly don’t find them an easy option, though they’re marketed as such. I rarely use them.

Could probably have done with a larger paper size, can't seem to get the level of detail with acrylics that I get with other mediums.
