Sanderlings in the morning sun
16 x 12" watercolour on Not paper - French Ultramarine, Crimson Alizarin, Yellow Ochre and Cadmium Yellow Pale. These tiny little waders migrate to the UK from the Arctic in autumn, and are usually scuttling round the tideline like mad clockwork toys. This little group was having a rest, waiting for the tide to come back in.
