This is a limited edition linocut print of a Woodcock. The Woodcock is a secretive, mysterious bird. They sit, beautifully camouflaged amidst leaf litter and bracken, and are rarely seen. Their distinctive eyes sit high on their head and they use their long beaks to delve in the soft woodland floor for earthworms. The patterns on their wings are exquisite and varied and I enjoyed making the sketches for this print using feathers that I found in my garden.
