great paintings dennis. i love this one, very unique. what type of wood do you use and how do you preare it etc? thank you, emma

Well wood is a bit of a mismomer actually, it is mdf. I prepared it by simply giving it a light sand, (use a facemask outside) and two coats of acrylic gesso, sanding between coats. Kim is a member of Monstercircque a burlesque circus troupe in Liverpool. She models for me regularly, and I thought I would capture her in all her splenour!

As an afterthought, I rather like the idea of a contemporary portrait in the style of a renaissance painting.
