Some very nice work here. I like the way you have used the tree branches as a frame for the scene, and the reflections from the distant trees in the water.

I like this for much the same reasons as Ruth, the trees are believable and the whole painting hangs together well, Nice one Ann.

P.S loved your cat too!

Lovely, wish I was by that lake now. Well done.

Like the way the branches fight with each other for dominance, and at the same time frame the scene - I just hate paintings where devices are used to make an artificial frame, and the painter just hasn't really cared over much about the frame itself. If I gave any advice to painters, it would be - remember every aspect of the painting: skimp any part of it, and it won't work.

thankyou for your kind comments! I did choose the photo, because I thought the trees did make a good natural frame!.anne x

There is nothing more to say: the above said it all. I just want to tell you that I love the painting, because of the branches (as they all said) but also the zigzag in the landscape, leading the eye into the composition. Beautiful!!!
