An ambitious undertaking, Dorothy. I know what you mean about the variance of colour on the internet. I think you can learn more by copying a painting, rather than a photograph. Excellent.

You are so brave to tackle such complicated paintings but they must have been very worthwhile challenges having learnt so much from painting them. It's a great idea to own a painting of your version, of an artist you admire. I like your paintings very much Dorothy.

This one was a great challenge. I am never likely to see this painting for real and I am a big fan of this artist and also love Renaissance paintings. There was a lot of difficulty with the colours as they show upon the Internet with big differences. I have missed out a lot of detial in the plants at the foot of the painting because it was difficult to see them all. I throughly enjoyed doing this one and it took me 400 hours but again it was for my own pleasure. It is acrylic on canvas 3 foot x 2 foot and hangs alongside The Birth of Venus which P painted for myself last year.
