RIP is always sad - dogs just don't live long enough. But that's why we have to enjoy them while they're here. I still miss dogs I had 40 years ago.... I don't think you can really get over it, but then, I don't think we should. They matter ... all who have had them know that, and - you've immortalized this one. After all - we don't last forever either.... though some of us look as though we have.

This both made me smile and sad. It's a lovely pet portrait and I bet your nephew and his wife are delighted.

Millie was my nephew and his wife’s dog and it was a vey sad day when she had to be put down. So this is her normal every day look and not the one when she came back from the groomers
