Full of interesting textures Donald, has a good sense of depth as well.

Yes, the pen/ink certainly brings about the linear structure for the tree trunks and stippling effect too, nice arboreal setting!

Great mark making and, yes, the inclusion of the figure works well

Excellent work

Thanks Spencer, John, Coral, Angela, Heather and Romila for your great feedback. I wasn't sure about posting this linear drawing but I'm glad I did, The spatial setting made for depth. I like to depict trees with people as they are a good combination. A good example for this pairing is the Waterlow Park -Summer posting.

A decorative style pen and Indian ink drawing direct from life in this North London arboreal setting. The small solitary figure provides a sense of scale for emphasising the height of the trees. I wanted to contrast the busy textured areas with the quiet pattern areas. And to explore the range of marks using old school dip pen nibs.
