Good strong watercolour, Diane, thought it was an oil at first. The strong darks on the foreground tree rally send the others into the far distance.

agreed this is a lovely watercolour winter scene and lovely misty look as well going into the trees just as there is when there is this much snow around, adding the people was a super touch as well Diane

Love silver birches and these are beautifully painted.

Lovely winter scene Diane.

Thankyou all. The people in the distance are my son, daughter and an elderly neighbour out walking his dog. This picture sold last week (my first ever sale). I was quite sad to see it go but also pleased someone liked it enough to buy.

Love the way you have painted the silver birch. Well done on your sale!

Congratulations on your first sale and I have to say I'm not surprised this was it. Fabulous painting.

You've depicted those foreground trees really well Diane. Well done on the sale. It is an emotional experience getting a sale - on the one hand you are really, really happy that someone wants and likes your painting enough to part with their hard earned cash but on the other you feel like you have given away a friend and you just hope it has gone to a good home! Daft isn't it...

Aah yes Russell, I was happy to know it was a present for a lady's elderly mother that had said she liked it at exhibition. Her daughter came back at 9am the next day to buy it. A nice way for it to go.

Reminds me of home! Great winter feeling!

One can almost feel the cold, well rendered Diane. Interesting portfolio.
