A way through

There's an area very like that near to me: you struggle through bramble, hedge, various obstacles all artfully designed to trip you up, and eventually you reach a glorious beach: I say "you", because while I did it a few years ago, I can't do it now. More than a little irritating when you have to consider whether you ought to take a walk given there might not be anyone about to help you up if you fall over, but such is age...
