Do hundreds of these; fill sketchbooks with them = you can't do too many, and they'll stand you in good stead; don't forget the directional shading, and the fact that branches and leaf clumps will cast irregular shade; anchor your trees into the ground - remember a big tree will cast a big shadow (and forgive those of us who would try to teach their granny to suck eggs).
