And a joy to behold beautiful Dermot

Wonderful painting Dermot, full of light and lovely colours.

Love the light shining through the petals Dermot. Beautiful flowers.

Really beautiful Dermot, love the colours...especially on a dreary day like today!

And well deserving of the top gallery Dermot, not into flowers myself but I do appreciate the skills used here.

Beautiful

Truly beautiful and restful Dermot! I love the gentle light on the petals.

Lovely light captured, this really lifts the spirits Dermot.

Bright, light and bold Dermot....gorgeous.

Stunning painting, the way you've painted the light in the flowers, really lovely.

Thank you very much everyone

Fantastic colours, Dermot........and that small bunch of leaves at the bottom, in darker and more muted shades, acts as a lovely base for the whole painting. Lovely work, and so cheery!

Superb luminosity - great painting.

Thank you very much everyone

Hi Dermot, I googled John Pike as soon as I read your original post. His work is beautiful and I noticed what you said about him using a pinky tint on some of his watercolours. I've added him to my very long list of artists on my favourites...lol Thanks for the information, much appreciated

It's an interesting technique, I wonder if that's his secret to the gorgeous sharpness of his paintings. They are very clean and intense.
Have you come across an artist called Andrew Pitt, he has some nice touches in his work.
Thanks again Dermot.

Yes, I too like Trevor Chamberlins work, it reminds me of Seago's a little, who is my all time favourite. I also like Wesson's, the clarity and simplicity is breath taking. I have all his books and drool over them often!!lol
Another of my favourites is John Piper......oh to have a fraction of the talent of these icon's, we have to keep trying though, that's the fun part....as well as the frustrating part!lol
Thanks Dermot.

Under 50? I qualify then......but only just mind you!!lol We will just have to battle on and enjoy the journey Dermot, and hope that one day something may click into place. Hope I can still hold a brush at 92!
