Good painting emphasizing light, Dermot - love the little waders having a paddle. I'm currently doing a beach scene with lots of pebbles - but I think I'll add a few seagulls to give a better focus after seeing this.

The bit I focussed on was the way you painted the birds simply depicted without being too obtrusive - I tend to leave them out as they can tend to look a little twee but in this painting twee they are not!
