Lovely return to a former time Derek. I am sure those sketch books are a treasure trove of memorabilia.

Thanks Henry, yes there's loads of stuff in them.

Really super, Derek, emphasis on all the right details.

Thank you Seok. It's not an easy subject.

A very intricate sketch Derek. I love how you have mixed the window with the pillars and the intricate parts with the barely there columns.

Some good detail here Derek, and hope you get back on track soon...

Really beautiful drawing Derek!

Really love this Derek - my type of subject. Not at all easy to do.

Derek, it's splendid draughtswork as befits a draughtsman. Your 'am I bovvered' sparked a thought. I love the comedy of Catherine Tate. 'Am I bovvered'? 'What of it'? I love that philosophy, although it is a bit dangerous to think like this I suppose. I always had to be bovvered but now I'm a little braver. Catherine Tate's characters reflect this philosophy with Lauren and Kathleen, schoolgirl and mother of son who 'comes out' Respectively. I instinctively think you are broad-minded (if I'm wrong I apologise in advance) so, have a laugh with her on YouTube and see, 'Botox Babe' https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4aApaKHtwlM and Kathleen in 'John's a Gay Man now' https://m.youtube.com/watch?v= And I always have appreciated your constructive criticism and know you like a challenge. How about me and you and anyone else, have a go at a portrait of Kathleen? You can find her at the pen picture before the video begins with a cigarette in her hand. What you thinking?

Gosh there are some tricky perspectives there Derek, which you have mastered. I like this kind of sketching....sort of overlayed. Got any more gems like this hidden away?

Love this - a great memory and so interesting - it works so well.

Lovely draughtsmanship Derek !! Hope inspiration returns soon !!

Thanks Sarah, Alan , dennis, Carole, Adele, Michael. That's me, pick the awkward one. Broad minded? Moi??? Of course and thanks again Michael. Portraits are these days not for me due to accuracy of pen and pencil, but I'll have a look. Challenges, dares - physical or mental was me all over once, but unfeasable now.

Whoops sorry Fiona, Michael and Bob many thanks too..

I love the perspectives, cannot find the word bovvered im my dictionary.

Thanks Holger, English slang for bothered. Taken from a TV character

A terrific architectural sketch, of a difficult subject, great perspectives and a good showpiece of your work and talent.

Painting still taking a back seat in this troubled mind but nosing through the stack of sketch books for ideas. Plenty there but - am I bovvered? A4 book, back in 2005. Started in good spirits with a difficult subject, perspective etc then spotted a window and colour so did that on top of the original lines for the pillars. Then waiting for a pal at the time, went back to the pillars.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
