Love the subtle palette Derek. Well done for braving it out in the elements.

Good on you Derek getting out there. Me and my north Wales group are a load of softies when it comes to weather. Hence my last posting sitting in a tropical glass house. This has made an interesting conglomeration of buildings and well done with all that perspective. If you bring your caravan up this end of the country you must join us ladies well show you some lakes and mountains.

A lovely hour well spent Derek, a very accomplished sketch with great perspective throughout.

Really like this well observed, well drawn scene Derek.

It's super, Derek. There's such immediacy and light to this piece.

You must be the bionic man Derek lovely work

Nice sketch Derek, good perspective I know the area and this would have been very difficult for my to sketch, so well done especially in the cold wind

Thank you Linda, Sylvia, Andre, Louise, Seok, dennis, and David. The consensus of opinion was that we would like to return as there is so much and the - watch out - big arty farty word coming up - the juxtaposition of the old walls and new development is fascinating.

Love the space and light and atmosphere, Derek. The, er, juxtaposition of old and new was exactly what drew me to my urban drawing of the medieval church in the Barbican. There's something moving about it isn't there. And the feeling of, if those walls could talk... You did so well in the cold wind. I covered myself in heat patches at the Barbican.

Thank you Caroline

A4 pad, At Westquay Southampton this morning, the new extension is a reamakable new structure curving in every direstion and still not opened, but houses a cinema and yet more restaurants as if there wasn't enough in the city. That's the top left bit in my sketch. Took me an hour and very cold wind so didn't get any more done. Part of the old walls on the right.
