Great studies Derek, she seems to be a professional. Sorry to hear that something has happened in your family. Take care x

Thank you Satu, yes she was very casual but is a pro. Thanks also. Nothing wrong with the family, just stuff happens.

Lovely studies - a long time since I attended such a session and this is making me think about doing it again

Well you did have fun. These are lovely . I like the first one best.... big well done you. And that is not meant to be patronising. Michael life drawing is brilliant as I am sure you know . Get back out there and have a go .

Good life drawings Derek. Concentration needed when drawing from life. You did well.

These are lovely Derek, your proportions are fairly spot-on. I love doing this sort of thing but rarely get the chance.

I would be really chuffed with these results Derek.....they are all good but I like number 2 especially. Hope the 'stuff' sorts itself out Derek X's from me too, hope they help.

Some difficult poses to get right, but you made a good job of it. Good to take your mind off things a bit.

Great sketches Derek. All of them are good not just the RH one.

That first pose was WOW can I do this? but I just got into things, a lot of stuff on my mind and that one worked out OK'ish so I carried on. I haven't posted the really bad one, only one thank goodness but I think I was tired too. Thanks Michael, Sylvia, Louise, Frank, Fiona, Carole and Marjorie. The next session is fully booked so will be aiming for early Dec. I had plenty of charcoal and box of other sticks I was given ages ago, similar to charcoal but different and not so forgiving when blending with finger.

Proportions are right!. Really good for quick difficult poses. I particularly like the 20 minute pose. You have obviously not lost it! I find life drawing and portraiture is a meditative process - it forces you to concentrate the mind and banish all other thoughts as well as assume an inner calm.

Thanks and you're dead right Linda. My troubles left me for that two hours. I always did like the life classes many years ago and still have the works done then.

No tuition, just 10 artists in a well established studio with 10 easels, paper and stuff. Bery emotional beacuse of family stuff, not really in the mood but I'd paid for the 2 hr session. Not brilliant but it's over 20 years since I had this discipline. Very good model, she poses over 4 counties. Happy with the RH piece.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
