It's interesting to see how your work has developed as time has gone by Derek! The earlier sketch is lovely and the latest pastel shows a far more loose, colourful abstract which oozes happiness . Love it!

Thanks Sarah, it is acrylic using credit cards as usual.

Great diligent working of your original sketch and given the benefit of your wonderful development

I like your loose abstractish work Derek.

Thank you Carole. Two comments regarding this as abstract have thrown me when I don't see this image as abstract, more landscape but in a new enforced and - to me enjoyable because of that - way of achieving a readable and hopefully enjoyable image. Not moaning, just puzzled.

I don't really see this good painting as an abstract either Derek and I do like it for the colours and the way you've indicated all those windows.

Cheers Louise. Someone on WC mentioned cropping the top half off and makes it a better picture. They have a point.

Your a looser and more confident painter than ever Derek your work has come on in leaps and bounds since I've known you, its like two different people. I much prefer your recent work and I think I speak how a lot feel . it's been fantastic to see you develop mate honestly, well done indeed .

A loser????? then I saw the correct word LOL. When people comment on the way I have come on since whatever, I can only read that regarding this new style I have been forced to adopt dennis, in that I had an idea that I was reasonably accomplished when I started exhibiting, winning prizes and selling. I am sure that's what the lovely people in here mean, as it has been a steep learning curve to get back to the best therapy I could access - my artwork. Cheers mate.

I wouldn't Derek. I like the composition as it is.

Different styles, but both underpinned by good artistic flair. Super work, Derek.

Hey Derek got your messages all of them I did laugh mate when I read your a looser there's no way I think that your a winner mate , I really think you would win more competitions now your work is full of vigour and alive I love it . lol mate still tittering.

27 x 35cms on Ingres Pastel tinted. Stetch from 2008 and this morning work full of errors. Trying to do more elaborate and larger pieces. This delightful and initially peaceful scene was ruined by hordes of American teeangers, probably spring break in Europe Got a sketch a day at different charming small mountain foot villages.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
