Lovely painting Dennis, poor Percy. We had a couple of baby Jackdaws fell down with their nest inside our chimney, about 3 weeks ago. It was a Sunday and our dog was frightened by all the commotion and we called out a gas fitter to take our fire out and release them. Put them in the back garden as it wasn't safe anywhere else. Mum and dad came to visit and feed them and one, who was slightly older flew off - the other one carried on for a few days and then we found it dead - we were so upset!

Thanks Adele I have picked up so many birds in my life some survive , I take them to wythall animal sanctuary.

Poor Percy. Just lovely Dennis.

hi he so sweet beautiful painting dennis xx

Thanks Henry very much appreciated

Hi Paula and many thanks

Oh dear! He looks like an amiable chap. And that palette really enhances everything about him. Great job, Dennis!

R.I.P. Percy.....it wasn't Reynard was it? I'm doing well this year so far, I haven't any orphans....yet!lol I either find, or am given birds of all shapes and sizes. Too many to list......my most unusual was a young Gannet, my favourite was a magpie which stayed with me for a year or so. A lovely memorial to Percy.

Thanks Fiona I'm always helping injured birds I take them to an animal sanctuary who are wonderful. This morning I got a young wood pigeon of the roof , it flew into my neighbours window and broke it's kneck. I love magpies and feed dozens in Sandwell they are clever they know me and my car and follow me around when I'm walking , I picked up a little owl , herring gull and loads of other types I just cant walk by. My wife thinks I'm nuts.

Thanks Seok very much I love your comments, read them and look at my painting again , Thank you Seok.

What a lovely tribute Dennis, you have painted a lovely picture of him.

Thanks Margaret very much

I love Percy. I don't have a stuffed pigeon but do have a Ki gfisher!! I inherited them Diana

My last post should read kingfisher. It was a follow on from the fox comment. Poor Percy. My cat has so many bells on his collar, he sounds like s Morris Dancer! Stops the bird killing though Diana

It was the fox maybe. This shows Percy full of life. Carry on your good works..

How sad Dennis, but a nice reminder of a feathered companion that you did your best to help.

What a beautiful bird Dennis, you have given him such a lovely plumage for his final flight.

Thanks Satu very much, yes I have it was sad but life is tough
