There's something just right about this, Dennis, the tonal contrasts and the limited palette, the 'simple' composition. I find shadows hard to get right and this one is lovely - not too dark, and balancing the main shapes.

Caroline is right about the shadow, just enough to contrast the interesting area above. Ditch the work and paint more!

Superb Dennis. It can almost be viewed as an abstract painting and yet you manage to suggest so much detail too. The light and shadow are sublime as is the blue sky.
