You've captured the busy feel of the square beautifully, Dennis, and the bright shapes of the crowds contrast very effectively against the neutral backdrop of the church.

Good light and shadows Dennis.

Thankyou Carole very much

Thankyou Seok and Dennis much appreciated

I have missed this one, very great Dennis.

So, do you use Photoshop filters and adjustments like Posterise and Threshold...on a scanned photo for the watercolour effect, Dennis? It's an interesting result. No question.

No Timothy I don't I honestly paint exactly as I would with a brush . Often there is no photo or there may be a few ref pieces, but I'll paint a picture soon and tell you when I will then save the process as I go . But I don't know how to use filters or any fancy stuff . I usually paint the earliest stages on paint the basic windows program then I move on to Adobe you can wash thin colour over then and add texture , sometimes I only use paint and not Photoshop. I have no rules I put down the under colour and then paint on top untill I like it. If I can help more ID be more than happy. I used to paint in oil and acrylic and sold many paintings and was a published artist when I was in my 40s.

Thanks for the insight, Dennis. I thought they were digital. Sounds like a fairly painstaking technique nevertheless. Have you thought about posting a tutorial on YouTube so we can see how its done. I'd be really interested to see how you build the style.

Great movement and colour! This is Venice - the essence captured. I love the figure with the red and white hooped top and the Naples yellow trousers of the right hand figure is divine.
