No sleep for me either but my lack of sleep didn't involve a beautiful painting!

Thanks Heather very much ,since I retired I have found it difficult to sleep. I left the painting rough , it was loosely based on one of my old photos but there was no snow in the photo .

This is another example of your lovely winter landscapes. Again shows the influence of the two Edwards! Also the French Impressionists. I remember being told that our eyes automatically filter out detail when when we see a lovely scene, leaving just the beauty, I suppose that is the skill of the artist, removing the clutter!

Thanks Stephen yes simplicity seems to be crucial to good art . Took me about 40 years to accept it though .
