You are right Michael, cropping would help a lot. I have a very good friend who paints over in New England. I remember when I first painted with her (she's a professional artist). She'd look at my works and utter either KISS, Or CTC. Kiss meant Keep it simple stupid, and CTC meant Cut the Crap. Still good advice!

This was painted on the extreme northern boundary of the National Park. It is usually much quieter up here , certainly quieter than Keswick! Often, after a morning painting, we'd have lunch in a little pub in the village. Once we were served outside by a young lad who was wearing one red sock and one blue one. When I pointed out that he was wearing odd socks, he looked down, though a second then told me that he had another pair like that at home!
