These are scrumptious Denise - you have achieved wonderful colour and texture in this painting. I think it was a good idea to keep the poppy at the back fairly plain - that said it is really well painted - it pushes the front poppy to the fore to catch the eye. A very exciting piece of work.

I do tend to keep painting oriental poppies, so have tried out the collage technique again but leaving the poppy in the background mainly just paint.
