This is gorgeous. It's rich with colour and shapes. I like it.

A great abstract Deborah! Love the shapes and the colours! What is jumbo graphite and why isn't the charcoal smudging the watercolours?

Hi Satu, the graphite and charcoal are by derwent and are from their new XL range. I ordered some free samples to try out and it was thes that I used in my painting. The charcoal did smudge but this added to the texture and made the paint slightly grainy. A had bought one of their sprinklers and a groove cube. The sprinkler gave a shower of graphite grains (Seen in the bottom middle greeny yellow section) which stayed when painted over. The groove cube was used to give the wave like texture in the top righthand corner. Both the charcoal and graphite are definately something I would like to explore further.

Thank you very much for the explication Deborah, sounds good and worth thinking about experimenting in future.

An abstract created by using line as a starting point. The shapes were then developed . Definately only round brushes were used for this painting. Under the paint I used jumbo graphite and charcoal to created texture for the painting.
