Scarista PO, Isle of Harris
The Post Offices are in short supply on the Hebrides, to accommodate small villages but also very far apart. The telephone boxes and postboxes are scarce. They are a feature of the Islands with red telephone boxes out of order being left to rust. I love the local colour of pillowbox red, painted on these postboxes. The landscape around this one is acres of croftlands opposite a beach that spans across the sea, with open spaces of white sands.
