Heron on Seaweed Loch
I have always found herons elegant and beautiful birds to see balancing on their long legs on seaweed coastline, rivers, canals and lakes. I had fun painting this one using pythalo blue for the contrast against the ethereal sandstone and starkness of the paynes grey. Then, to finish the heron came out like a comical, quirky little character, to show how much I loved the experience.
