Why are you posting photographs on a site called PAINTERS-online ????

hi I am mostly a pastel painter, but since my book offer I have been instructed to try and do my pastels from my own photographs, this way in the future it will cause hardly any copyright problems, have you seen some of my main art? dawn

I agree 100% with Lionel: this is a PAINTERS-website. We are not interested in your photographs, show us some paintings, there are no copyright problems on this site!!!

I saw all your previous comments on your photo gallery: if we all put our photographs we use to make our paintings on this web, I am sure it will crash!!! Most of the artists work from their own photographs, me too!!! Tell your agent there is no need for this!!!!

I think you may have seriously misunderstood copyright law. A painting made entirely from imagination can still be the subject of copyright. In any event, I think your advisors may have meant, do not use OTHER PEOPLES photographs as the subject of your paintings as the original photographer may hold the copyright.. It's got nothing to do with you taking a photograph of your cat so that you can paint it!

oh deary me, I think it may have been a little confusing for me to show some of my photographs on here, I do understand the copyright law, and my agent knows that I am as well known for some of my photography as well as my normal pastel art, I am an all round artist who wants to show people at least some of my photos,and what may have inspired my art. These 8 photo's are my personnal favorites and I do not intend to swamp the site with photo's. I have only put these few on firstly, now I will be uploading my pastel art only, but I do feel that I should warn you I will end up with a huge gallery as I have many pieces to show, what is most curious is that my photo's are getting these comments but not my pastel art, how strange, so no fears I will leave these photo numbers as they are and will just show my pastels. Hope this clears things up a little, the last thing I want to do is cause any problems,dawn
