Lovely work - I like the contrast between the loose areas and the fine detail of the boats and water. The overall effect is a well balanced painting and I was surprised to see it in a sketchbook as I thought it would be a big one.

Yes, the overall effect is great. I particularly like the splotchy effects (very technical term).
