Prefer this one David - I feel it has more depth to it. Lovely painting.

I think the stronger tones in this one work better, the shadows definitely bring life to the scene.

I meant to add that the distant hills are a little strong, competing with the foreground, you could lift out a little of the tone on the hills, which would give more depth to the scene.
