I think it looks quite effective now with the detailed tree sketch centrally placed.

I think you did and your title says it all too!

Isn't it amazing how a painting can transform and the pwn and ink line drawing certainly proved a success! There is a very subtle element in the background that appealed to place a tree, lovely fine line!

The initial watercolour element was created many months ago in an attempt at an abstact using previous 'leftovers'. I kept this painting in the hope that I would find some way of completing it. A few weeks ago I came across it again and realised that it was of no merit and would never get completed; but before ripping it up I attacked it with pen & ink, only because they were at hand. By chance, it seems to me that I had found the only solution.
