Lovely drying day and the technique is good too David. Those shadows make it.

thankyou Derek for your kind comments

David I'm not familiar with the work of Seurat, it looks to be a very labour intensive style. I like how the verticle element a third into the painting splits the image.....you could have left it out but I think it adds something to the whole.

You always bring a sense of calm to your paintings David. Great shadow play of the cloths on the lawn. A well composed piece as well.

Just noticed Fiona's comment about the post. I covered that up, and could see the painting works better with it in. Its clever. Sort of think Hockney would have included.

Superb rendition of pointilism David

many thanks Fiona I was hooked on Seurat (post impressionist) for a number of years especially composition and of course his use of colour contrasts he painted with dots of colour also called divisionism .This way of painting was replaced with the likes of Matisse .the upright was part of our patio window and used as a device to divide the picture and you are right it is labour intensive the picture took 5 weeks I did get bored halfway through I don't think I will do any more.

John you are very kind with your feedback Yes I did use the golden section with the upright you are never sure if these things work but we just keep on trying different things don't we

Very hard to do I should think David but I think that this is enchanting and I particularly like the shadows below the clothes line. The window frame adds to it too.

many thanks Dennis lovely comments

thankyou Sarah for you lovely comments
