That's a rotten farmer, I would have stayed put David, however, you have succeeded in turning round a decent quick oil.

Lovely sketch, love the foreground particularly.

Doesn't need developing, a stand out impressionist work as it is. Lovely Monet type feel it. I really like it.

Great painting David, and coarse farmers owner incompetent in the artistic matter.

Lovely work David pity about the landowner much more than a sketch

thankyou Cesare and dennis for your kind comments the farmer was quite angry because not only was I trespassing I was trampling other blue bells and minutes before the wind blew the canvas in my face I looked a proper mess

I like the unfinished look of this David, it still has that sparkle and light you inject into your paintings. Isn't the bill for 'right to roam' still going through for England, we don't have a problem with trespassing in Scotland to that extent...within reason of course.

not sure about the right to roam Fiona the picture was painted in 93 (I do remember it well ) didn't have time to discuss the finer points all the best

Well, that's one excursion that you will never forget David! A sea of beautiful bluebells in this piece.

Miserable farmer!! I agree with Andre, has a soft Monet look about it David.

thankyou Sarah and Carole for lovely comments

Well we would not have seen this if you had been left to yourself David. I like the impressionistic effect the foreground in patlcular. Which you had time to work on. Our local farmer was very good. You are supposed to keep your dog on a lead. But I saw the farmer a number of times, he would always smile, or just carry on working. My dog Echo was never on the lead. But at harvest time I did put echo on the lead due to the great big machines about. Any way this piece gives us an insight to how you work, thanks.

If you were a gorgeous blonde girl I would give you a big kiss for your comments give echo a big kiss from me and tell him his dad is very kind with his comments

oil on canvas 12" x 10" .I painted this on the spot one saturday morning and was told to remove myself from a farmers property as I didn't have permission to be there. It was a sketch which I intended to develop but never did.
