Everything is so beautifully painted- from the skin tones to the hair, the textures in her cardigan to her necklace, …and not to forget, those sunglasses. Super portrait Russell.

Thank you for your lovely comments, all very much appreciated. 'Question are you wanting to do or get to photo realism?' In a word John, 'no.' I try to paint 'realistically' but there are many interpretations as to what that may be I guess. What about yourself?

I would not want to paint photo realistic as i love the paint marks, and when you stand back the pictures comes clearly into view. What I feel art is about is skill and craftsmanship. I deeply appreciate those skills each time I see them. As an example Alfred Munnings he was a fantastically skilled painter he literally draw with brushes. I admire the skill you have put into this portrait Russell its very well done.
