You have the expression captured perfectly. Loving dogs in the right hands

Superb detail and a great work Russell

Thank you for your positive comments, much appreciated.

Pitbulls get a bad press - because when they do turn, they have immense strength and can do dreadful damage. However - 99 times out of 100, this is a direct result of human stupidity or wickedness: either people have no idea how to handle dogs (any dogs) or they've bred them to be fierce and vicious, trained them to be an extension of their own fragile masculinity.

Here endeth the First Lesson...

This is a lovely drawing of a lovely dog. Even the collar has been finished to a high degree of perfection: it IS detailed, but not photographically so, and you feel you could attach a lead to it!

Super portrait, with excellent tonal work. You've captured the affectionate, playful side of the pitbull, qualities not often associated with the breed but, having met a couple, I can attest that they're quite soppy and you've conveyed that expertly!

Thank you very much Robert, Glennis and Seok, very kind of you. I couldn't agree with you more Robert with regards to the 'bad press' associated with this breed of dog. Just a couple of weeks ago I was sat in a pub having a quiet pint when in walked a man and his pitbull. The dog, called Big Dave, proceeded to sit next to me and was absolutely gorgeous, a right softie!

impressive drawing!

A new subject for me but I was asked to sketch it for a friend - it's the the soppiest Pitbull I've ever seen!
