' Last days of the Tralee & Dingle ' Last commission for 2018 and featuring one of Ireland's most fondly remembered narrow gauge lines. Hunslet 2-6-0 tank locomotive No's 2 and 1 are depicted double heading a heavy cattle train for the monthly cattle fair in Dingle through the Fuschia hedgerows so typical of the Dingle peninsula just passing St Mary's chapel and schoolhouse on the southern edge of the village of Camp about 11.5 miles out of Tralee. The locos are struggling against the 4 mile 1:30 gradient to the lines summit at Glenagalt. By this time the line was financially challenged and the locos and rolling stock were in a dilapidated state, but the spirit of the old company was still strong and the crews willed their charges on to the very end. That just leaves me to wish all past and future customers and those who follow my artwork a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. Enjoy.
